Miyamoto Can't Wait to Show Off Super Mario Bros. 3DS

Bring on E3
Nintendo is working on 2D and 3D Mario games, and we've already seen Paper Mario, but there's another 2D Mario adventure in the works, as revealed by this Iwata Asks.
Reuniting the four men behind Super Mario Bros., the interview finishes with a look to the future for Nintendo's mascot, with Shigeru Miyamoto stating:
So, in the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system. I want to show everyone as soon as possible what the new Super Mario Bros. will be like on the Nintendo 3DS.
Although "as soon as possible" could be any time after tomorrow, really, it seems likely Nintendo will unveil what's sure to be a flagship 3DS title at this year's E3 in June. Nintendo Life's Corbie Dillard will be at E3 to bring you all the news and hands-on straight from Los Angeles, so you'll hear about whatever surprises Miyamoto has up his sleeves right here.

Snakebyte Preparing a Cure for 3DS USB Charging Woes

Fang-cy that
A new console, a new range of accessories from the usual suspects: MadCatz is working on 3DS accessories and iMP Gaming's creepy 3DS cases are bordering on notorious, but Snakebyte is hoping its upcoming starter pack for the console will emerge top of the pile.
The press release mentions the usual "synthetic leather-pouch" containing "three gaming modules", three telescoping styluses, two screen protectors and a set of headphones, but the most useful part could be the universal USB adaptor for charging the console from any USB port.
The starter pack lands in Europe on March 25th for €19.99.

High Voltage Working on Bringing The Conduit to 3DS

Already up and running
First-person shooter Conduit 2 isn't even out on Wii yet, but already developer High Voltage Software is looking at transporting the series across to Nintendo's next console: 3DS.
Speaking to Eurogamer, High Voltage's Eric Nofsinger said:
Now that we're winding things down a lot of our resources are on pulling this technology over to 3DS. We're still early. The resolution is definitely lower, but the screen real estate is smaller so it balances out. We've not had a lot of severe optimisation yet, but we're going to be able to have something very close to this [Conduit 2] on the 3DS probably by GDC.
With development at such an early stage it's likely this is simply an engine test rather than a bona fide plan to bring Conduit 2 or prequel The Conduit to 3DS, but it could certainly pave the way for a High Voltage-developed first person shooter on the console.

Club Nintendo NA has a Ball with New Prizes

Game and Watch replica, reversible DS pouches added
The North American branch of Club Nintendo has dabbled in its fair share of trinkets and doo-dads and has only occasionally dipped its toe into offering actual games with the occasional downloadable title and a pair of Game & Watch collections.
The rewards program is returning to the Game & Watch well in its latest refresh, but this time no extra hardware is required as one of the new prizes is a replica unit of the very first Nintendo portable game, Ball. DSiWare patrons may be familiar with it as it was released on the service for 200 Points, and now it can be yours in its original physical form for a steep 1200 Coins — making it the most expensive prize in the program by far.
Japanese Club members were offered the units as a prize for achieving Platinum status by the end of the 2009 Club Nintendo year, but this marks the first occasion they're available to the general membership.
Also added to the program are two reversible pouches, in red/gray and blue/gray, for holding your DS, be it a phat or DSi XL.

Dead or Alive Dimensions has a “Figurine Mode,” sort of like the one in Street Fighter

The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed that Dead or Alive: Dimensions has a “Figurine Mode” similar to the one found in Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, and it sounds quite detailed. Players collect figurines (exactly how one does this is not explained, but probably by winning fights, using StreetPass etc), for which there are over one thousand variations featuring different clothes and poses. Then, you can place these figurines in front of an in-game background and basically take photos from different angles. These photos are then saved in your Dead or Alive save file. And while that sounds like a weird thing to do, given the already voyeuristic leanings of the Dead or Alive franchise, it’s pretty much a perfect fit.
